Starting now, you can begin a brand new journey toward a more positive path for yourself – one that’s filled with growth, well being, acceptance, and empowerment.
Amy Schmidt, LMFT
Hi. I’m Amy. I believe in the power of therapy, as I too have had my own personal struggles, and therapy was the tool that helped me overcome them. I chose to become a therapist so I could fulfill my life’s purpose – helping others!
If you’re feeling discouraged, stressed, and overwhelmed, you’ve come to the right place. You’re taking the first steps on a journey, but you’re not taking them alone. I will help you look at your life in a different way. It all starts with a healthy mind, and a fresh perspective. I take a holistic approach to therapy, focusing on your well-being, mental and emotional health, and physical wellness comes into play as well. It is all connected!
I help clients who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, or addiction. I use my knowledge and experience combined with empathy and compassion to support your therapeutic journey. I want to help you better understand yourself, develop coping skills for improved daily living and healthier relationships, and achieve a greater sense of inner peace. I may use EMDR to help alleviate distress and blocking beliefs (conscious or subconscious). I use holistic techniques and client-centered therapy to support you in finding self-awareness, self-compassion, and balance, all of which are keys to the growth and healing process.
I also work with people who need help with stress management, mood disturbances, or who have challenges with relationships and intimacy. I am experienced in treating alcohol and/or substance use, issues around sexuality (I am LGBTQIA friendly), grief and loss, stage-of-life transitions, and self-esteem.
You owe yourself the gift of therapy. I hope you will consider me to help you in your journey of self-discovery and healing. I offer a free 10-minute phone consultation to see if you think we are a good match. My ideal client is a high-functioning adult who is intrinsically motivated and committed to making changes in their life. I hope to hear from you.
